All art is a socio-political conversation. As a propagandist, I discuss the concerns and experiences of marginalized communities in an effort to unify the masses under our shared struggles.
As a queer Filipino-American, I don’t have the luxury of making decorative art. Using my personal experiences and culture, I bring attention to the marginalization of the queer community and global devastation of American imperialism. My bold, exuberant paintings, prints, and mixed media works aim to make these immediate, pressing issues impossible to ignore in the name of the world revolution.
I currently work alongside Anakbayan Long Beach and the Filipino Arts Kollective (FAK) in Long Beach. Through these organizations, I aim to engage with my community and understand the issues that affect them most. Ultimately, my practice reflects the true conditions and concerns of the people so that I may advocate for and empower them in the face of oppressive systems.
