TANGGOL MIGRANTE (DEFEND MIGRANTS)

Amidst the intensifying attacks on (im)migrant communities, this work recognizing the work and efforts of migrants. These people–who were pressured to migrate due to the destabilizations of their homelands–are just as deserving of the same rights and livlihoods as anyone else. The blame should not be put on these families but rather on the governing bodies that perpetuate a cycle of migration through overseas exploitation.

This print was made in collaboration with Anakbayan Long Beach and the Filipino Arts Kollective in Long Beach in support of the Tanggol Migrante Network in Southern California. Through a community workshop, visitors were able to print posters and on their own clothing, taking part themselves in the social support of our migrant kababayan.
